It takes a long time...

I really can't believe it but the MSF forms are nearly ready for full release. It has taken a great deal more work and development than I had envisaged - take that as meaning - was it really worth it? Well, I do think it works pretty well and looks good too. The proof will be when people start using it and whether it breaks! I really hope it just works and I'm not answering endless support emails.

A lot of hard work is finally paying off. I've finished building the system to manage multi-source feedback or 360 degree appraisals through the website. It will be soon released once I've had a rubber stamp from the College tutors, which is only fair seeing as we will want to put it into our portfolios! It's my first bit of proper coding and I'm quite pleased with it. In essence you will be able to register people to give you feedback via a form that is accessible when logged in.

Mailing Lists

One of the most difficult things for any group or organisation is maintaining mailing lists. It can be very easy for them to rapidly get out of date. Well, as of today I've managed to manipulate someone piece of code so that we can keep the membership of the website tied to the mailing list entries. In fact, if you change your email address here it updates it in the mailing list too. That's no small feat! When and if you are deleted from the website membership you are also automatically deleted from the mailing list. Pretty cool isn't it? Or maybe you just think it's sad.....
