magill.jpgIvan Whiteside Magill (1888-1986), Irish-born anaesthetist. Responsible for much of the innovation and development of modern anaesthesia including endotracheal intubation, the Magill circuit and numerous pieces of equipment. Helped found the Association of Anaesthetists and professional exams in anaesthesia.

The Second North Trent Committee of
Anaesthetists Annual Scientific Meeting
 
Submissions are now open for the ASM which will be held on April 24th 2009 at BBraun
 
Abstracts accepted under the following categories:
 
a) Audit
b) Research
c) Case Reports
 
Abstracts will be chosen for oral presentation and poster presentation on the day
 
There will be a panel of judges to choose a prize for the 'Best Oral Presentation' and 'Best Poster presentation'
 
All trainees have been given leave to attend and it has been agreed with all College Tutors. You must be a trainee at the closing date to be eligible. This will allow for the correct numbers for catering etc.
 
Abstracts should be no more than 250 words and should be submitted to me in the first instance, by This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or or via the website
 
The closing date is April 8th 2009 

However, early submission is strongly encouraged
 
This is an opportunity to get practice, at a Regional Meeting, in presenting to your peers, a chance to see what exciting things your colleagues are doing, to improve your CV and even to win a prize.
