Anaesthetic Trivia - Curare
Curare is a compound used for dart poisons by tribes in South America. It is derived from vines such as, Chondrodendron tomentosum and Strychnos toxifera. The first non-depolarising muscle blocking agent, d-Tubocurarine, was identified in 1935 by Harold King. It was found in curare that had been packed in hollow tubes.

Entries wanted. Winning photos to be displayed in the refurbished anaesthetic department at the Hallamshire. Entries will be available to view in the gallery section of the website.
The refurbishment of the Hallamshire Anaesthetics Department has meant there is quite a bit of empty wall space. Instead of simply putting up lots of notice boards, it's been decided to print some lovely photos instead. We'll get the entries and put them up in the gallery section here too so you can have a look at what people send in.
Email us and we will put you in touch with the right person or send the pics on for you.
